Product Specialist – Western Region
Water Island Capital is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Director/Product Specialist who will be responsible for business development and client service in the West Territory.
Role: Drive AUM growth and client service/retention across region.
The Regional Sales Director/Product Specialist will not only focus on raising assets across our mutual fund family but will also serve as a respected liaison to our clients while providing a full breadth of information on the firm’s strategies to all channels (RIA, Independent, and Wirehouses). This individual will work closely with other areas of the organization (National Accounts, Investor Relations, Portfolio Management). While this person will report directly to the firm’s Lead Product Specialist, the Regional Sales Director/Product Specialist will collaborate regularly with senior members of the firm that are responsible for client interaction and portfolio management.
Proven track record of developing and implementing a business strategy focused on relationships across channels within the West and must be based in California
Superior territory management abilities that include a clearly defined process across the entire sales process from new client generation to robust client service
Consultative sales approach that is product and structure agnostic
Ability to collaborate with financial professionals at a high level and to be a resource to our financial advisory partners
Strong capital markets knowledge and an understanding of complex alternative investments solutions that can be clearly articulated to advisors and analysts
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Demonstrates the ability to present creative ideas as it pertains to marketing and discussion of alternative strategies
Exhibits the ability to work in a team-oriented environment but also as a stand-alone professional driven to grow sales and market share within territory
80% travel in territory
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 3+ years of outside sales experience
FINRA Series 7 & 63 or 65/66 licenses required
