Credit Analyst

 

Overview

Water Island Capital is seeking an Event-Driven Credit Analyst with 2-3 years of experience.

This is an ideal hybrid opportunity for a credit analyst who is looking for an opportunity to help grow an event-driven credit business while significantly contributing to the firm’s existing businesses.

Responsibilities

This individual will work closely with all parts of the firm’s investment team, including merger arbitrage and special situations. While this role will focus on corporate credit, there is a particular emphasis on high yield, loans, and convertibles.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience with catalyst-driven investment ideas, including:

  • M&A

  • Asset sales

  • Refinancings

  • Litigation

  • Other credit-based special situations

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills

  • Experience analyzing bond covenants

  • Familiarity with high yield and/or convertible trading

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Team-oriented attitude

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

  • Base salary range $110,000-$150,000

  • Eligible for discretionary bonus
